Stir fried chilli beef with broccoli and steamed rice
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 1 sirloin steak , aprox 350 gr. sliced into thin strips and tossed with 2 tbsp cornflour
- broccoli florets, sliced

- A 5cm piece ginger , finely chopped
- 1 tsp dried chilli flakes
- 1 bunch spring onion , sliced
- 4 tbsp soy sauce mixed with 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 limes , juiced
- 250gr steamed rice
How to:
Heat 1 tbs of the oil in a wok until very hot. Fry the steak in batches until dark and crisp. Remove the steak and set aside. Add the remaining oil in the wok and stir-fry the broccoli, garlic, ginger and chilli for 1 minute. Tip in the sweetened soy sauce and lime juice and cook for 2 minutes. Toss in the beef and spring onions, stir and serve with a bowl of steamed rice.

This looks delicious. How did you managed to get such a wonderful dark colour? Is it the soy sauce or did you add brown sugar?
I agree with Ivy, this really looks amazing! I also wondered how you got the dark color. Was it marinated with some dark soy sauce?
You have a very nice looking blog too. Do you use Twitter so I can follow you for more of your recipes?
Hi,
Yes, the dark colour is from the dark soy sauce. I didn’t marinate the meat before hand. Just add the soy sauce with the sugar and the lime at the end.
